2001-11-06 - 9:59 p.m. TURNER DEMO AT TATE BRITAIN Stuckists were outside Tate Britain for the press launch of the Turner Prize on 6 Nov 2001. Placards featured slogans such as 'Where are the paintings?' and 'Resign Serota'(the Tate Gallery Director). The latter was read by the man himself as he climbed in a cab outside the Tate. Dirty looks were also received from Sarah Kent, Time Out art editor, and Louisa Buck, art writer and staunch Brit Art supporter. Edward Lucie Smith proved rather more congenial, as did nearly all members of the public. The Demo was featured on BBC LDN lunchtime TV News, and on GMTV national news, as well as being mentioned in the Times.
