NEW ORLEANS CRAP ART REPORT
...i went to the exhibit of current southern art at N.O.M.A.* a couple days ago; some real crap. The first 'piece' is a sheetrock wall with a big hole smashed though it (the 'artist' didn't even make the hole;her students did it. I hope the parents are pissed). Another one was a TV monitor running a video of the 'artist' roller-skating on a gym floor. Another was digital photos of the artist's mother's legs; this last one N.O.M.A. ran on the cover of their magazine.We Southerners can now con ourselves just like the suckers in NY/LA/DC do...some progress.
